10:20 am - A Steve Story

I was just telling a friend of mine a story about Steve today, and then I thought I ought to post it on my blog. This is an example of the way Steve thinks, and why we've always managed to survive financially, even when work was scarce. We had just bought a washing machine, and rather than pay someone to bring it out and install it, Steve opted to do it himself. He has always done this. He says he likes to know that it is done right, so he needs to do it himself. So, with me as his assistant, we hauled the machine home and installed it. I handed him things while he carefully made sure it was hooked up and leveled properly, systematically checking for leaks. When it was done, he said.... "Well, if times get tough, we know we can always install washers." THAT ain't gonna happen, but that's a typical thing for Steve to say. He's my can-do man.
