11:40 am - St. Patrick's Day Rolls Around Again
St. Patrick's Day was celebrated last Thursday with stories of naughty leprechauns and how they stuff their pockets with gold they have picked up... being irresistably attracted to shiny things. They are so greedy that they overfill their pockets, and the gold sometimes falls out as they walk along. The children followed the "rainbow rope" (which was twice as long this year!) to find the pot of gold at the end of it. As they walked, they found pieces of "gold" that had dropped out of those rascally leprechauns' pockets. The children had lots of fun finding gold.
Did I just see some gold?
Look at that adorable little Ollie in the yellow hat and patchwork overalls!
The rainbow rope even disappeared into the little wood stove for a moment! Then out it came and went on its merry way.
The pot of gold is discovered with lots and lots of "loose change" in it. Shiny, shiny, shiny! Help yourselves, kids!
Checking out the "bounty"!
Lots of trading went on to make it fair for the little ones. Thanks for sharing, Carson!
The last thing the children did was watch a surprise dollhouse show, by none other than "yours truly". It was a story about the McNally family who immigrated to America from Ireland and how they celebrated St. Patrick's Day in their new home. It involved lots of helping one another and making special secret foods, like cherry pie and St. Patrick's Day rolls, for the family dinner at the end. Here is the ending scene as they are gathered around the table giving thanks for the abundance and each feeling very lucky... and saying so.
