08:48 pm - Ollie Turns Three!
Maya and her mother, Willow, worked hard to create a mellow, fun, healthy birthday party for Ollie this year. And it was a success! Maya included Ollie in many of the preparations. They were: Make banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, make a pinata in the shape of a pig (filled with home made play dough, boxes of raisins, healthy suckers and bubble blowers), and there were yummy snacks and drinks for all. He had two friends there (one of them was baby Julian) and the rest of the attendees were adults.... mostly relatives. Reanna made Ollie a shirt, which he is wearing below (very adorable... light and airy with long sleeves for sun protection in the summer). Jennifer made him some cute shorts, Steve and I gave him our kids' favorite picture book that age, WHAT DO PEOPLE DO ALL DAY? Rebeca got him an ambulance that he loved so much that he didn't want to open anything else. (It had a siren!) Ely got him some balsa wood planes. They were quickly put together and they had the best time flying them! Grandpa Bob thoroughly enjoyed watching the whole process.
Here is Ollie licking the frosting off his cupcake while he waited his turn to take a stick to that pig. It was hard for him to understand why he should whack that pig. Everyone actually WANTED him to hit and break something? It didn't make sense to him.
Maya's mom, Ollie's Omi, flew down from Canada to spend time with her family during both Ollie's birthday and her own. Ollie is so much loving having his Omi here! They both delight in each other, and they play all day long.... Ollie's dream come true.
