Ollie's Quirky Speech - Livin' the Good Life

09:45 pm - Ollie's Quirky Speech

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

Ollie has a charming little habit right now of breaking up one syllable words in his speech. When he gets excited he talks really fast and says things like: "I w-ent" (w...ent) and to "g-oe" (g...oh). Maya thinks he's stuttering, which may be true. But to me it shows intelligence. He is aware of all the sounds that make up words and makes sure to get them all in. I just love the quirks of children's speech. My kids had many quirks, and I made sure NOT to correct them. I knew they'd grow out of them soon enough and that I'd miss them. I did.

I didn't correct my sons' speech either. No way was I going to rush that little childhood.
