A side-note to my last post:
King Henry VIII is given credit for bringing Protestantism to England, which was originally a Catholic country. He, himself, was Catholic, but he seemed to waver back and forth between the two religions due to the influence of his second wife, Anne Boleyn. With her help, he eventually established the Church of England (Protestant) as the country's "official religion". True to his style, people who practised Catholicism could be tortured or even hanged (the hypocrit!). This is why we need to staunchly support, to the very end, the Separation of Church and State in this country. Meaning, the fundamental right of each person to practise the religion (or no religion) of their choice, without government interference. Imagine an official "Church of the United States". Whew! We don't want to repeat THAT disaster!
Now, where was I? Oh yeah, (take a moment, breathe...) "God is good...." Yes, that's where I want to be. (Sigh...)
