09:23 pm - The Right Words
I ran into an aquaintance recently who I'd not seen for many years. She reminded me that I had read her chart about 30 years ago. She sincerely thanked me for telling her things that had positively affected her life, and she told me exactly what I had said. The funny thing is, I do not remember reading her chart, and I certainly don't remember telling her those things. In fact, I have no memory of the whole incident. But, her gratitude was so sincere that I didn't have the heart to tell her this. It would have diminished it for her somehow. So, I accepted her thanks and told her I was glad I had helped her.
This is not the first time this has happened to me. Sometimes I open my mouth and out comes sage advice at precisely the right moment, and I surprise myself. I ask myself, "Wow, where did that come from?" Other times, more often, I am at a loss for words. ANY words. Usually, I just don't know how to speak spontaneously and well. Go figure.
