I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize to my readers. I accidently got logged off of my blog the other day, and what came up was a view of what my readers see when they go to my blog. ADVERTISEMENTS! I was surprised and angry to see unsolicited advertising all around the edges of my blog entries! What is this??? All this time, I was thinking people were seeing what I was seeing... a nice, neat, uncluttered page with just writing. I feel used! I feel betrayed! I'm so sorry that you have had to put up with that all this time. I, personally, don't think I'd revisit a site that had advertising. Thanks for hanging in there with me, and I'll do my best, to correct it... even if I have to change providers. Bear with me.
Any suggestions on what to do?

And now, someone tells me, you have to watch a 10 second ad in order to post a comment! WHAT???? It doesn't do that when I post a comment on my blog! Those rats! I'm furious!

Well, they have to make a living somehow, don't they?
Anyway, most of the free blogging platforms have various levels of blogging offered - usually there is a very simple blog application that is available with NO ADVERTISING. I know wordpress has one, which is the level I choose. There are levels WITH advertising that you can choose that give you more space and more bells and whistles "for free".
Better check in with your settings.
Although, I don't see any advertisements when I visit your site. I do have a livejournal account though, so maybe that's the difference.
Head's up Darlene, in cyberspace, like elsewhere, something is rarely for free. You drive traffic to their space and they will capitalize on that!

Hi Mom,
I don't see ads when I read your blog or when I post a comment.

If you do decide to move to Wordpress, though, ask Maya about it. I think she moved her whole blog over a few months ago.

Hi Darlene,

I don't see anything but what you post. I read it in Google Reader and it takes away any extras such as advertisements. Anyone can use a platform like Google Reader if it bugs them, so if it were me, I wouldn't worry.

Thank you for writing your blog!

Jeannie, I wouldn't mind them using my blog for advertising if they told me about it in the first place. One of my readers said she has been putting up with the advertising all this time, and I never knew it. That's what makes me mad! I understand they have to make a living, so I'd be willing to pay for the service without advertising.
So, why is it that some people see ads and others don't? Can someone help me here?

Yeah...there was a sudden occurence of advertising on your blog....it created a negative conditioning situation and I stopped visiting for awhile. It seems to be better now, but it kicked in when I tried to post a comment on the Huell Howser post. However, I persisted.

I can recommend Wordpress....
