What in the world is this?
St Patricks Day 003
It's a big ball of finger-knitting that all us moms diligently worked on over the last month. Today it mysteriously turned into a "rainbow rope" that led to a pot of gold for our St. Patrick's Day celebration. (I enjoyed coming up with this one! Seriously, I lay awake some nights thinking of fun things to do with these kids.)

Here's what the children found at the end of the rope:

There was "gold" hidden all around the backyard by some rascally leprechauns, and the kids enjoyed searching for it. But, we all know that leprechauns are tricksters, and so their "gold" is always fake. (It was fun to look for it anyway.)
We had a St Patrick's Day potluck with lots of green food. I loved the green hats!

Great little leprechaun! (After our game time, his Irish mom told us some tales about leprechauns and their character and habits.)

And here's the video! Thanks, Maya!

I really enjoyed your Leprechaun adventure, and especially the video Maya made. I'm curious about what other green food you had besides the salad.

The hills look so close by, are they?

Jill, we had green nori rolls, green jello made with "green juice", green apples, grapes and kiwis. I also made twice-baked potatoes (potatoes being an Irish staple) with chives.

Oh yes, mountains are all around us, and we hike them frequently!
