Well, not really. It just feels like it. I recently got a membershp to the new Joshua Tree Retreat Center pool. Often, I'm the only one there, so it seems like my very own pool. What a luxury! Every time I swim or soak in the hot tub or shower in the carefully-kept ladies room, or sunbathe in the extra-comfortable lounge chairs, I think to myself, "I'm SO lucky!" and "This is a dream come true!" I've been wanting a peaceful place to swim laps for years! Because it is a retreat center, and silent retreats are often in session, it is an adults-only pool. And this brings up my one regret. Maya really wanted to get a membership, and she can't because of the no-children policy. I'm really sorry about that. But, otherwise, it feels like I died and went to heaven when I drive into the retreat center grounds, a beautiful, well-maintained desert oasis and enter this silent pool and spa area which seems to be just waiting for me to get in and enjoy. The desert landscaping is backlit at night making for a lovely backdrop for relaxing in the very generous-sized hot pool with massaging jets under the brilliant summertime stars .... ahhh. Fancy a Desert Hot Springs-type spa in Joshua Tree! Yes, it's a dream come true. Thank You, thank You!!!

This is where I plan to spend most of my summer.

A very interesting adventure. How far is it from your home? Do they have anything indoors for you too? Just very curious....

It's about a 10 minute drive from our house, but it's on the way to where I shop, so it's convenient. Nothing indoors, unless I want to take a yoga class. They plan to build a sauna in the near future.
