When I Was a Mother - Livin' the Good Life

08:59 am - When I Was a Mother
Forty years ago, when I began my mothering career, I was so focused on the job at hand that I did not know, or care, what was going on in our government. I had a pressing mission that involved raising another human-being to adulthood in the very best way I could, and it took ALL my time and attention. By the time I was a mother of five, I was acutely aware that the effort I put in, day after day, had way, way, way more influence on the world, in the long run, than my vote ever would.
Though I no longer have the energy for raising children, I happily pass the baton to the next generation to do this powerful work. And, I'm delighted to say with all my heart, that our sons and daughters-in-law are going to do, and are currently DOING, a superior job of consciously raising this next generation, ultimately influencing our world for the better. Supporting their efforts is my job now.
