Speaking of dying, my dad does not appear to be anywhere near dying, even though he is about to turn 94. In some ways, since he returned from the hospital, he seems better than ever! He is certainly walking better, he rises from his chair more easily, and he isn't shaking nearly as much. I think that is all due to the Parkinson's medication the doctor put him on in the hospital. It really does seem to be helping him. I imagine he'll be on this medication for the rest of his life. The other medications he's on, for his heart and blood, may be lifelong medications, as well. We'll see if they have undesirable side-effects over time. So far, so good.
Like I've said before, my dad is tough. He's gentle on the outside, but he has a toughness inside that keeps him going. For how much longer, no one knows. We take one day at a time, trying to stay as healthy as possible. And at our age, it's pretty much a full time job.
