07:59 pm - Exploring the Desert in the Rain
Yesterday we had a nice, slow, steady rain. The first after a long period of drought. Ollie got to take a wet walk in the rain gear he brought home from Vancouver. Since rain is so rare here, we all went out for a stroll under umbrellas... well, just me, actually. Everyone else just got wet. By the time we were returning home, Ollie had taken off his hat and dunked it in a muddy puddle, then replaced it on his head. His boots were full of water, so you could hear water sloshing around in them as he trudged along. He didn't seem to mind. His wet hair was plastered to his head. But, he seemed satisfied since he had had the time of his life jumping, and running through, every puddle that he came across. And nobody said "No" once.
Here he was just experiencing the feeling of boots in mud puddles and how following a trail of water eventually ran into Nathen's swale. Which at this point was just a baby-pool. Good enough!
