Maya helped by laying out the "rainbow rope" that led to the pot of gold this year. (Thanks, Maya!) It just gets longer and longer as the moms and their kids add more and more finger-knitted rope pieces to the huge ball of yarn each year. Last year, I must have knit 30 feet or more. (This year, none.) Other than cleaning my house, readying my kitchen for a feast, and cutting up some kiwi (all the food had to be green!) I didn't have that much to prepare this year. Pretty much all I had to do was dress up. I didn't even have to tell a story and put on a puppet show. (Thanks, Tee, for your Irish stories that we all enjoy so much! We can tell that you have "a wee bit" of Irish in you!)

I thought it was so cute that eight year old Kay, thinking about how the rope just gets longer and longer each year, said to her mother, "I wonder how long the rope will be when I'm 16?" That she would think that she would still be going to my St. Patrick's Day event when she is 16 just tickled me!

You look SO cute! I especially like your socks. I thought I was doing a lot with the green hair. But next year I want to do the full outfit.

It was fun! I hope everyone dresses up more next year. A lot of the kids forgot this year.
