The following picture is of Ollie (with a hurt nose) greeting his friend Nora on Halloween night just before they went trick-or-treating around our family's group of houses and dwellings. Maya belongs to a group of homeschooling moms and kids (which is basically the Waldorf group I used to lead, so they are all near and dear to me.) Maya master-minded this event where everyone met at her house, then proceeded around our family-compound (a total of 9 stops) to be greeted at the doors by me at our house, then Steve (in his studio where he took group pictures), Reanna at their trailer, Jennifer at her workshop, some people camping on Paula's property, then Paula at her house, Damian and Maya's house and then their office building (greeted by Gabe), then Nathen at their new house-in-progress. Everyone agreed to give out healthy snacks and nothing was scary. Nice evening. The kids remained calm and well-behaved despite the sweets. Good job, Maya.

I'm very curious about the healthy treats. Can you give me an example of some of those? When my sons were small I actually sent out a friendly letter to all the neighbors asking if they might consider giving something different from candy. Not one person even acknowledged my letter. But it's a fact the week after Halloween, pediatricians are VERY busy.
