07:53 pm - Another November, Another Martinmas
Some of the moms helped their little ones make tissue paper lanterns with leaves imbeded in them. Beautiful! They looked so pretty on our lantern walk. That coffee can lantern to the right was made more than 20 years ago. Ben's playgroup made them by freezing water in the cans, then pounding nails into the ice-hardened sides to make holes for the light to flicker through. They have held up so well over the years. Other than a few dents, they still look and work perfectly well.
Here we are practising the Martinmas songs before we go out on our night-walk. So fun! (That's me and my hand directing the music.) We had about 40 people this year, and that made quite a choir! I especially loved those enthusiastic children's voices. It felt good to feel GOOD ENOUGH to put this event on this year. I was dubious about whether I'd be able to right after the surgery. But, I've bounced back so well, it was quite easy for me. Yay!
