09:23 am - Fun Evening with the Fam

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

My 67th birthday was a pleasant affair with the whole family (except Ely and fam) in high spirits. Everyone agreed that I looked "healthier than ever", and that was good to hear. I claimed that I was looking forward to a new grand baby joining us this  spring, and that I would be coming out of retirement, briefly, to give a childbirth class to Nathen and Reanna, beginning in February. That sounds like fun to me! A few other couples will join them, meaning we will be creating the beginnings of a new group of parents who are connected through their common interests. This is such a very IMPORTANT thing! When a couple makes the transition from childlessness to a family of three, there is often a huge, surprising transition to pass through. When you go through it with friends, it is much easier and more enjoyable.Things are looking good for Nathen and Reanna on that front.
Even though this photo is dark, I'm posting it because I like the feel of it. Everyone singing "Happy Birthday".

Maya made that cake. A butterscotch cake and it was DELICIOUS! Those letters are from Nova Naturals.... a Waldorf toy catalog. They are hand-carved. Beautiful.
